Announcing support for Skype for Business Cloud Connector Edition (CCE) 2.0.1

January 16, 2018 Seattle, WA: We are happy to announce support for Microsoft Skype for Business 2015 Cloud Connector Edition (CCE) 2.0.1 for our customers. Skype for Business CCE might be right solution for the customers who already have PRI/T1/ SIP trunks terminated on their premises and want to leverage the flexibility of ‘Skype for Business Online’. We also happy to announce that one of India based customers is live using Skype for Business CCE setup. Announcement 1

Please note Skype for Business CCE is not same as Skype for Business Hybrid setup. Major differences are

  • All users in CCE are hosted on Skype for Business (SfB) Online while in hybrid mode some of the users are hosted on Hybrid pool
  • In CCE, SfB User provisioning is done using Office365 SfB portal while in hybrid, it is done using SfB Control Panel in the Hybrid server
  • In CCE, SfB Online team takes control over configured VMs including patch management
  • CCE setup is based on PS scripts which might take about 8 hours to complete and at the end, all VMs are configured and connected to your Office365 tenant

Single site with multiple Cloud Connectors and PSTN Gateways

Multiple PSTN sites with one or more Cloud Connectors per site
