Announcing Lync Enterprise Voice support for Office 365 users

VOIP Connections, a Seattle based Premier Cloud ‘Voice Over IP’ service provider, is pleased to announce Lync Enterprise voice support for Office 365 users.

Seattle, WA (Web) October 1st 2012. VOIP Connections, a Seattle based premier Cloud VOIP service provider, facilitates small and medium sized businesses to move their telephone exchange on to the Cloud eliminating the need for expensive EPBAX telephony hardware.  With the introduction of their Mediation Gateway product in January, VOIP Connections also supports on-premise or hosted Microsoft Lync 2010 on Amazon’s AWS with Enterprise Voice capabilities.

Office 365 is Microsoft’s offering for hosted Exchange, SharePoint and Lync services. Small and Medium business can take advantage of hosted services provided by Microsoft. Hosted Lync offering on Office 365 today does not support ‘Enterprise Voice’. Enterprise voice is required to support inbound and outbound PSTN phone calls and also for dial-in conferencing either from Lync client or Lync enabled phones.

VOIP Connections today announces support for Lync Enterprise Voice for Office 365 users. Small and Medium business can still continue to use Office 365 for their Exchange (mail) and SharePoint needs. And they can seamlessly connect to VOIP Connections hosted Lync platform for their Lync Enterprise Voice needs. Users will be using the same login names to log in on to their mail and lync accounts.

VOIP Connections Announces Support for Microsoft Lync® 2010 using their Mediation Gateway Product

VOIP Connections, a Seattle based – Premier Enterprise ‘Voice Over IP’ service provider,  is pleased to announce support for Microsoft Lync® 2010 using their ‘Mediation Gateway’ product.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) January 18, 2012 – VOIP Connections, a Seattle based premier ‘Voice Over IP’ service provider, facilitates small and medium sized businesses to move their telephony needs on to the Cloud and thereby eliminating the need for expensive telephone exchange (EPBAX) hardware.  Now, in addition to hosting virtual telephone exchange on the Cloud, VOIP Connections also supports ‘on premise’ or hosted Microsoft Lync® 2010 using their ‘Mediation Gateway’ product.

Microsoft Lync® 2010 requires PSTN connectivity for inbound and outbound calls and also for Conference Bridge support. In order to provide PSTN connectivity to Lync, companies need to buy expensive hardware from leading telecommunication providers and also costly PRI lines. VOIP Connections ‘Mediation Gateway’ eliminates the need for expensive hardware and costly PRI lines. Mediation Gateway connects Lync’s Mediation Server to VOIP Connections hosted system via an IP based solution. Mediation Gateway can be installed and configured on any server grade hardware and resides in the same environment as Microsoft Lync® system.

“Local DID number for Conference Bridge is a great way to reduce telecommunication costs. And we can provide DID numbers for majority of cities all over the World and that is a key differentiating factor’ announced Prashant Kurane, Mediation Gateway Product Manager. For the Conference Bridge dial-in users,  Lync requires DID numbers. Customers prefer local DID number because it eliminates long distance charges. VOIP Connections can provide DID numbers for major cities all over the world and thereby eliminating long distance charges for the callers.

Regarding Customers for ‘Mediation Gateway’, Ojasvi Sinha, Director Services said that “As we speak, we already have a customer using ‘Mediation Gateway’ in their production environment and two other customers, field testing Mediation Gateway. One of them is using Amazon AWS as their Lync environment”
